In Retreat

As midnight approaches and the current year fades into history, as usual, we tend to look back at what, if anything, meaningful was accomplished in the last 365 days.  So it is with this year.  We can ask what was the major event or happening that will be the signature issue for 2018?

Over the Christmas day family gathering I opined on this very question, much to the surprise of my family.  Surprised not that I had an opinion, of course, but what that opinion was.  And that is that I see the beginning of the end of globalism as a political tyranny.

It could be argued that the genesis of globalism's demise was birthed with the election of Donald Trump. Or perhaps with the Brexit movement.  Or with various nations finally saying "no!" to the mass invasion of their homelands.  And those are valid points.  But I think we're seeing the beginning of the end of Left wing-Marxist-Globalist-Islamic tyranny.  Bullying is on the wane.  In retreat.  Not defeated, yet, but certainly losing its icy iron grip on people and nations. Liberty has become in vogue again.

I see it in the budding optimism that's bearing fruit in industry, exploration and even in politics.  That optimism can be defined as eagerly looking towards the future, such as getting back into manned space exploration. It can be defined by exposing the grip the entrenched fake news media and the hard left has over people in this country particularly; of those who would gladly do harm to the nation if it would hurt Trump politically.  I'm optimistic that the nation will see the true intent of these corrupt people in the deep state, and realize what their true game plan is.

So as the neighbors' celebratory fireworks are exploding right outside my window, and the end of 2018 winds down, I'm optimistic about 2019 and beyond.

I think the sane adults in the room have prevailed, and the immature, self-absorbed infants are throwing their final tantrums.  They been exposed for what they are, and more importantly, what they are not.

And they and their impractical and tyrannical policies are in retreat.  Happy New Year!
